Need to know more about KTF?

Is KTF protected with a dongle?
Yes – we supply usb dongles for SLM copies but parallel locks are still available for older operating systems.

Is there a network version available?
Yes – at a one off additional cost for the NLM.

Will KTF work within AutoCAD Map, ADT and Civil3D?
Yes.

What releases of AutoCAD does KTF work with?
AutoCAD 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 platforms.

What releases of Bricscad (the great alternative to AutoCAD) does KTF work with?
Bricscad V11 Pro and soon with V12 Pro.

How do I get my survey data into KTF?
We start when you have transferred the raw observation/co-ordinate file into the PC. Email surveydata@ktfsoftware.com.com with one or two typical examples plus control/station data if working with raw obs. There is usually a small extra cost - over many years we have concluded that the only way to suit user’s requirements is to write an input program for their data.

Can I supply clients/other organisations with CAD drawings created with KTF?
Yes – this is very straightforward as we only use “standard” CAD entities and have nothing to do with “poxy” objects!

Is the software modular?
Yes – there are six modules comprising “mainstream” KTF with additional modules for survey datalogger input, ZVI, River section outputs and the link to Windes files. Most users have the “mainstream” version.

How long will it take me to install this excellent software?
The very simple and fast install program for KTF 7 does everything except load the menu. Easy to read installation notes are included with the downloaded files or in CD packaging. KTF runs from it's own shortcut (or shortcuts for different projects) in addition to the "standard" Bricscad or AutoCAD shortcut.

How long will it take to learn?
One or one and half day courses ensure that new users who know Bricscad or AutoCAD well are efficiently “up and running”.

Does KTF work within AutoCAD LT?
No – Autodesk doesn't allow applications to run in LT. You need Bricscad or full AutoCAD platform.
